Description
Product description Use the cup on clean, relatively smooth, nonporous surfaces, at temperatures from 10 to 120 Fahrenheit . Moisture or contaminants can reduce the slip resistance of the cup. The red-line indicator may not perform reliably at elevations above 5000 feet. To Attach 1) Position the hand cup on the contact surface so the red line will be visible if it should appear while lifting the load. CAUTION: Test the cup for staining or deformation of load surfaces with light colors or soft coatings. 2) Pump the plunger until the cup attaches completely. When the red line is hidden, vacuum is sufficient for lifting. 3) Check the plunger frequently to make sure the cup remains securely attached. If the red line appears while lifting, set down the load immediately and pump the plunger until the red line is hidden again. To Release 1) Set the load on a secure support. 2) Press the valve release lever until the cup disengages completely. Maintenance Since aging and wear reduce the capacity of the rubber pad, it should be replaced at least once every 2 years or whenever cuts, slits or other surface damage is discovered. Always inspect vacuum pads before use. Clean vacuum pads and the load surface between each lift. Make sure both surfaces are dry and free of any dirt or obstruction. Make sure plunger has enough lubrication for pump. DAMO warrants the included hardware product and accessories against defects in materials and workmanship for one year from the date of original retail purchase. DAMO does not warrant against normal wear and tear, nor damage caused by accident or abuse. sturdy, comfortable grip. very convenient to have a carry case as you need to keep the suction cup surface as clean as possible. I also have a different brand and style that comes with caps and the original package box, but not a case and it's definitely more of a hassle. Likewise you wouldn't think that little warning line demarcation would be that much of a deal, but when you are walking up stairs or you're negotiating around awkward spaces determined to get to your next destination and you see a change in the line's position even slightly slipping, it can send an instant signal to stop and make an adjustment before you've gone too far to prevent a more dangerous or tenuous situation. Without that you are literally traveling blind. Despite whatever cautions and reflexes you think you possess, if you ever lose suction past the critical degree, what happens next will take less than the flash of a second. I was planning on carrying a smooth non-glass sheet of material, stuck this grip and another one on first, walked away, then test tugged, waited a bit longer and sure enough, though the one without an indicator looked and felt fine, the red line on this one said otherwise and after another brief pause both failed when I tested once more with a gentle nudge. There are places you can reasonably cut corners and places you can't. Given the price of glass, the clean up, time and safety consequences, this doesn't seem like one of them. One cracked sheet will nullify any so called savings. This was a bit more than I wanted to spend, but less than another brand with a near identical design which was more expensive. For tools I tend to prefer the toughness of steel and cast aluminum over anything made of plastic, but given concerns of weight and wear, I thought these might have a slight advantage over similar handles made of metal. Many months later I still feel the same. The machining and feel of the tool seems excellent to me, and I'm pretty critical about such things. These also held fast better than the kind that look like a bar with two suction cups and levers attached, even though the double cup was supposedly rated for slightly heavier loads. After much testing the Damo allowed me the physical leverage and confidence to handle second story window installations alone that I otherwise would never have been able to do solo. As a qualifier, this was purchased for a major house remodel and moving stored items from place to place and though I am a professional fabricator, but this isn't something I use regularly on a repeated daily basis.I'm remodeling my mobile home, and wasnt too concerned about the window installation. Taking out the old windows was no biggey as i didnt care if they broke, but when it came to the new custom made double paned windows, and ironically these "suckers" went on sale, i bought one. thank god for speedy shipping as after i got one, i liked it so much i got one for my wife so she could steady the window while i climbed up the ladder to install. I bought this type as its the type the glass guys i know use and now i see why. I wouldnt waste my money on an iffy product if your dealing with new stuff. If it fails, you'll most likely be looking at glass art. The fact that it has a visual to let you know when you have good suction and a manual release is invaluable. you dont want to be guessing if its got good suction, or be jerkin your unattached window around trying to peel off the suction cup. I was playin with them when i got both with my countertop as it advertised grabbing granite. the countertop was still attached and i pulled as hard as i could. The countertop groaned but the suckers held. BTW Im a bricklayer by trade and am much stronger than your average joe. I wont be buying any more as im sure these will last my lifetime with proper maintenance (if any). I do a LOT of research before i buy anything.not the very best for everyday use. but if its for use once in a while this is your suction cupThis is a "value priced" suction cup. I am a residential window installer (remodel). The build quality of this suction cup is light. The plastic handle is secured to the plastic "suction cup" with four metal screws. This means that with extensive use, the screws will loosen, and over time I am sure that will be a point of failure.Out of the box this creates a great suction. This works flawlessly, The pump evacuates air quickly, and the release is quick as well. This has a great feel while carrying heavy loads.I would not recommend that this be used for excessive weight, dangerous situations (heavy items on ladders, etc) or heavy use over an extended period of time..For the price point this is a great addition to the toolbox for light to moderate use.OkOverall great cup, as good or better than the crl/woods cups. Light weight and strong. as with any cup, keep it in the case when not using and it'll last forever. Can not say enough good things about these cups. 8yrs glazing experience and been using these for 6.I installed a frameless 3/8" glass shower surround using these (bought 2). They grip, they do not slip./ and they are easily secured / unsecured to the glass using one hand. Plastic frame is fine. If you're a pro who will use these every day? Yea, get the metal frame ones. If you think it's overkill buying these for a single project, don't think it. If you're doing this type of project yourself , you're saving nearly a 1,000 buck-a-roos over having someone else do it. Take your time, think it out, have a second pair of hands, cover all hard surfaces with thick towels to avoid shattering the glass, and also, do NO place weight on any corner edge of the glass since that is a weak point . move SLOWLY moving the glass. You can do it with these lifters ... get at least TWO.Great product. Even better customer service. Had some issues with one of them and they sent out a replacement and it got here quick! Great to deal with and would definitely buy again. Works just as described. Makes installing windows 1000 times easier.Very good quality suction cup!Très bonne prise lors de transporte de vitre lourdeAwesome product
